Visit the Moffitt Library exhibit, “From Abkhaz to Zuni: The Language Collections of the University Library.” This exhibit highlights the linguistic diversity of the University Library’s collections, a cornerstone of the world-class research for which the University is famous. The campus libraries include material in over 400 languages, representing a vast array of cultures and time periods.
Another bit of flotsam (or jetsam?) in the blogsphere, specifically created as “homework: for a seminar on New Media, “Awakening the Digital Imagination” at UC Berkeley, Fall 2011, facilitor: Bobby White.
I learned from participant Jane Paris that it helps to have a focus so the focus of this blog, besides making me feel less guilty for not doing the homework for the seminar, will be to pass on to library staff thoughts, links etc. from the seminar that they might find interesting. Out of 400+ staff, who knows, I might get one or two of them to read this (if a blog falls in the forest and no one hears it…)
